When Kirby met her future groom, Tommy, at Santa Clara University, she didn’t know he already had a wedding venue in mind. But Tommy’s parents own the beautiful space at Baldacci Family Winery, so when the couple decided to tie the knot, it was the only place they wanted to be.
We worked with the couple to design a totally unique and personalized look for the venue. This was important because Tommy’s older brother had already been married in the same space—and Tommy and Kirby had invited many of the same guests to their own big day. Because Wish designed florals for the first wedding, we used our familiarity with the space to find a way to make it feel completely different.
To evoke the couple’s relaxed, natural, and slightly bohemian vibe, we collected seasonal elements like dried flowers, fiery summer dahlias, and touches of pampas grass. We set breezy shade cloths throughout the vineyard to create a neutral space, then enhanced the beauty of the outdoor ceremony with arrangements of loose and undone florals. We also sourced cool vintage furniture and used it to create stylish vignettes throughout the venue.
Kirby and Tommy said their vows framed by a vibrant arbor. Ceremony flowers included a pair of antlers—a nod to the Baldacci Family Vineyards logo. Then we helped convert the space into a dinner reception with minimal decoration. With the exception of a few cut flowers, pops of blue stole the show—each one a tie-dyed napkin handmade by the Mother of the Bride.
As darkness fell, the party continued in the signature Baldacci Winery Red Barn. Even Tommy’s college rugby coach joined the celebration—performing as lead singer of the band Bent Peter while family and friends danced the night away.
