Childhood sweethearts Brooke and Isaiah were the first couple to work with Wish during the 2020 outbreak of coronavirus. Rather than postpone their nuptials, the couple chose to get married on their original wedding date and lower their guest count to 50 people, an intimate and health-safe experience that evoked a world of seaside romance.
The ocean inspired every detail of their coastal wedding, which was hosted at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. The bride wore an ethereal Vera Wang gown stitched with delicate lace and frothy tulle, and the bridesmaids wore blush sea goddesses inspired gowns with delicate sparkles woven through their hair. Not to be outdone by the ladies, the groom wore ruffles worthy of a sea captain, and the groomsmen wore pirate-style lace-up shirts.
The couple’s wedding planner, Stacy from They So Loved Events, designed their ceremony and reception space using a palette of white and coastal blue. The immersive setting welcomed guests into a private, close-knit experience while remaining true to the bride’s Texas roots with a big and grand design. Lush florals lined the ceremony aisle, leading toward a lavish 10’ tall arbor adorned with lush greens and an assortment of white florals – an exquisite backdrop for tender ‘I do’s.
Due to COVID considerations and to allow for adequate social distancing, Brooke and Isaiah hosted their reception in the Grand Ballroom designed for 350 people. To prevent guests from feeling isolated in the expansive, Stacy designed a beautiful floor plan with many intimate spaces for individuals to celebrate. To infuse the space with magic and a sense of communal romance, Wish built multiple custom arbors layered with smilax vines, creating small “rooms” with living green roofs from which glass girlies suspended like bubbles in the air.
The most memorable part of this grand sea-inspired wedding was the ceremony aisle. Handcrafted by our floral dream team—Pico, Manuel, Yumi and David—every inch of the 25-foot-long aisle was given the highest level of design attention. Composed of hundreds of delphiniums in shades of crisp white and baby blue, each 3-4 foot tall stem was imported from Holland and arranged by expert hands. It was, by far, one of the most magical floral moments the Wish team has ever created—a fitting promenade for an exquisite love story.
